Hobby Complex 06 Tokyo 12/21/2008 11:00-16:00 (JST) - Preview

It's that month of year again, folks: Hobby Complex 06 takes place in less than 30 hours. And since I won't be there to take pictures and I don't really want to "borrow" pictures afterwards from other blogs, I figure this time around I'll just do like some sort of "sneak peek" post where I "take" pictures from various sculptors' websites to showcase the newest kits that they'll be selling this time around.

You'll have to excuse me if some of these pictures are too small. That's the way I found them on the sculptors' websites.

A@B@C

1/6 Nanako (Bunny Version) - 8,000 yen

Ab=flug

1/6 Nyanko Sensei - 1,500 yen

1/8 Shimau - 4,000 yen

1/6 Hasegawa Haruka - 10,000 yen

Cerberus Project

(Don't remember seeing these before, so they could be old)

1/6 Arcueid Brunestud

Seras Victoria (Creative Action Figure - still a resin kit I think)

They're producing a lot of these ball-joint resin kits lately. I really don't like the new direction that Cerberus Project is heading. The ball-joints make the finished kits look less realistic (i.e. like an action figure).

DNG

Fate (Swimsuit)

Go to GARAGE!!

Ayanami Rei (Will be on display; WIP)

He's just showcasing this one. I don't think it's ready yet for GK distribution.

I'm liking it so far.

INF

1/7 Nambara Yuzuki - 7,000 yen

Milky Doll

1/6 Sonsaku Hakufu China Dress Version

Really like the detail on the dress.

OrchidSeed

Hustler (Illustration from SWEET BODY) - 12,000 yen (50 copies)

It's a nice kit, but there are a few others that I want way more.

Sculpted by Ikeda Ryouichi.

Rabbit foot

Non-scale Cat-borg 03

Non-scale Beast & Paste

Vispo

Hyudorana - 35,000 yen

So glad Vispo's kit this time around doesn't interest me. Still haven't gotten my hands on Raqel Gothic yet.

Works-Sapporo

1/6 Izayoi Sakuya - 11,000 yen

I've never played any of the Touhou doujin games before, so I don't know why I like Izayoi so much. Well, not so much this sculpt though.

Hell, I don't even like maids (2D or 3D).

YAMATO

1/7 Iseshima Aya - 12,000 yen (30 copies)

Heh, I was all like "What's YAMATO offering this time around..." for a good 5 minutes until I finally got it.

Yeah I hope she ends up on YJA soon. zenko actually has another new kit that he's working on for a future convention (Donne Anonime) that I'm interested in as well.

Not as much as this kit though.

Output

1/8 Louise (Dancer Version) - 5,000 yen

I really don't get the obsession that people have with Louise. There's tsundere, and then there's Louise - a total bitch.

Omni Corporation

Gwendolyn (Odin Sphere)

Ryomou Shimei

Kaguya Hime

1/5 Yagami Hayate - 10,000 yen

Kitsutefu

Hakurei Reimu (Display only; don't know if it'll be distributed as GK eventually)

I have been looking for Kitsutefu's kits on YJA for a long~ time. No luck so far.

He just might be the perfect sculptor for Reimu (basing on his past work).

ques Q

(Monster Head Collection) Teo Teskator - 4,000 yen

(Monster Head Collection) Nana Teskatory - 4,000 yen

(Monster Head Collection) Furu Furu - 3,000 yen

(Monster Head Collection) Kirin - 4,000 yen

(Monster Head Collection) Ganatotos - 4,000 yen

I'm not really that into monster garage kits, but these are definitely pretty cool.

Studio Saru Bunshitsu + Klondike Kaoru

1/6 Spumoni - 8,000 yen

Cherry Blossom

1/7 Sakagami Tomoyo

I've come to expect quality from Cherry Blossom, and this kit is no exception.

Volks

1/6 Kagamine Rin and 1/6 Kagamine Ren - 10,000 yen (each)

Not the Kagamine twins damn it. Where is my Kanu?!

Musashiya

1/6 Shijou Mitsuki (Kamikaze Version) - 9,800 yen (30 copies)

1/6 Futami Eriko (Kamikaze Version) - 9,800 yen (30 copies)

Man I'd be pissed off too if my skirt was suspended in mid-air like that. Well I'd be pissed if I had to wear a skirt, period.

1/6 Hoshino Yuumi (Kamikaze Version) - 9,800 yen (30 copies)

1/6 Mizusawa Mao (Kamikaze Version) - 9,800 yen (30 copies)

Toufukutei (Hachimitsu Koubou)

1/8 Wilhelmina Carmel - 8,000 yen

It's nice to see somebody concentrate on a non-Shana character for a change.

I didn't care much for Shana either.

Okanodai

Kasuga Nadeshiko - 7,000 yen

Heihachi Zazen

1/5 Morrigan - 15,000 yen

Not quite King of Craft's Morrigan, but not quite terrible either.

Sakura Zensen

Natsume Rin - 7,000 yen

I rather like Cerberus Project's rendition of her.

Rasetsu

Lu Bu (Festival Version) - 12,000 yen (50 copies)

This is a pleasant surprise. This is exactly how I imagined Lu Bu would look if he were somehow transported 2205 years into the future, given a sex change and then used as fodder for a shitty manga series.

But yeah I'll be picking her up.

Well, this should give you a rough idea of what to expect in terms of new kits. Expect a lot of older kits from past conventions. Suffice to say, this is the last you'll hear from me about Hobby Complex 06 (in this context anyways). I will be moving on to other topics.

P.S. Sculptors, if you see your sculpt here and would like the picture(s) removed, please let me know. I'd be happy to oblige.
