There is need for concern as I started this blog to vent about my exploits in the GK circle (i.e. amount of updates is directly proportional to my love of GKs); however, the saving grace is that this isn't the first time my interest has waned. I've gone through several dips like this in the past-despite this time being the worst-so I believe it's just an issue of burn-out.
Maybe Treasure Festival 2009 will help, who knows. As it is my top priority is paying off my car and my student loans. So in the meantime you'll have to deal with my exploits in the GK "derivatives" circle.
Manga
Still haven't read Nana volume 5. It's gotten to be a lot like Gunslinger Girls, another decent series that I just can't finish (without forcing myself).
But hey why force yourself when you have so many choices?
Hentai Manga
Had a look at the top 2008 Hentai Manga voted by 2ch folks on Canned Dogs. Only knew about Shoujo Material by Naruko Hanaharu and B-Chiku by Distance before this. I've liked Distance for a long time and B-Chiku didn't disappoint. Naruko Hanaharu's Shoujo Material was kinda boring, much like her Kamichu! series (aka Ghibli rip-off). Her artwork is great though, to be fair.
Of Toranoana's list for 2008, I've only Hatsuinu Vol.3 by Inu to add (which is a fantastic adult comic I might add).
Will be checking out a few of the titles on the list (I love these lists because it's very convenient for those who don't want to waste time weeding out the bad stuff).
Video Game
Been at it since Friday night (basically played until I passed out both Friday and Saturday night). Finally had to call it quits this morning since too much school work has accumulated over this week and I kept putting it off.
Currently in Kanji's bathhouse, 4th floor. I gotta say, Kanji's shadow is truly a riot to listen to (Troy Baker does a fantastic job here). It's always been a belief of mine that "people with complexes" have a better sense of humor so I'm quite pleased this was proven yet again.
Using Japanese singers who can't pronounce English words properly makes for great background/battle music (or at least a good laugh anyways). For the longest time I thought the part "Taking pride from fear" in the song 'Your Affection' was "To get the front seat" and "Past will tell you when to make yourself a hero" was "I swear to you..*unintelligible*..cousin from Iran". Now that I know the actual lyrics, I often still have to concentrate to make it out. It's almost brilliant what they've got going here.
Fishing is a cinch now. I'm in the process of perfecting how to distinguish the Inaba Trout from the Amber Seema. Discerning the timing between the ripple vibrations helps you pull back before the wrong fish bites (kinda like shuffling the Persona skill sets).
I really should do something about trying to perfect every fusion's skill set (I always shuffle until I get the exact skills that I want which can sometimes take 30 mins to 1 hour for 1 persona - it's a huge waste of time but it just doesn't feel right if I don't do it). I think you can tell a lot from the way a person plays his RPGs (I'm a meticulous person by nature so my friends usually beat games/get things done way before I do). This winter break I played Diablo 2 with my cousin over LAN and he kept complaining that I was too damn slow. I don't think either of us enjoyed the experience too much, even though we did beat Baal in the span of a week (Took me like 2 to get to the 2nd town when I was playing it alone).
Lastly, a bit about Margaret. Activated her Social Link yesterday afternoon and her personality turned out to be quite amusing albeit wordy (she's far from the cool beauty which was my initial impression). I can definitely see her resemblance to Elizabeth (I enjoyed her sense of humor too). Not too found of her annoying Persona fusion requests though (finally got Mahama for Principality and my level to 24 so I will have Metador the next time I play - provided that I can live with something besides Mahama, Dekaja and Me Patra for the inheritance skills; yes I know they suck but the other skills suck even more). I'm going to save Metador in my compendium for my subsequent play through so I want him to be semi-decent at least.
